We know, “workmanship changes everything.” It is used as an approach to roll out political and social improvement the world over. SAYPA’s artworks program makes a personal space for the gathering here in Massachusetts to goad, empower, and lift each other through human articulations, including verse, music, theater, describing, painting, models, and that is just a glimpse of a more significant problem. As far back as a long time, SAYPA holds twelve workshops a year for youth to bounce into African immigrants’ marvelous traditions.
In 2017, SAYPA had a couple of stimulating endeavors and events, including the head of its meeting play “Records of the Diaspora.” The first play researches the lives of twenty pointless families, who are weakened yet risky. Delineations of their lives show us significantly more than we hear in the media about African immigrants’ authoritative issues, character, mental fighting, and the difficulties of sparing society. As exchanges interconnect all through the play, we will find that the African immigrants’ story is more than obliged migration; in any case, one that ensures flourishing and fulfillment past social blocks. This play will intertwine African immigrants regular describing, music, and verse to breathe life into these two families.
Somali American Youth Parents Association (SAYPA) is willing to work with teachers and administrators for the sake of the educational success of African immigrants children. We know Cultural differences can present a challenge to active dialogue between educators and newly arrive of African immigrants but with the right support, and experience SAYPA members in hand there is no reason for that give a call to Executive Director of SAYPA Samira Ahmed at 617-910-7572 or e-mail samirahmed@saypa.org or info@saypa.org
